Meet The Team

Miss Rachel – Creativity and Partnerships Coordinator

Hi everyone I’m Rachel and I’m the Creativity and Partnership Coordinator at Karratha Community House. I have lived in Karratha since 2019 with my partner and two children.

I have worked with children for over 15 years and have a huge passion for child development, inclusion, play based learning and communication with families and the community. I take my responsibility caring for your children and guiding their growth very seriously and love to upskill my knowledge whenever I can. I have worked in the Child-Care industry, opened and managed OSHC services and am currently studying my Cert 4 in Education Assistant Special Needs.

I love to do board games, read books and crafts with my kids and we explore Karratha as a family on the weekends. I love big trees, the ocean and rainbows. I hope that you will come and say hi.

Miss Jamila – Facilitator

Hi, My name is Jamila and I am a Facilitator at Karratha Community House, I would be seen having fun at one of these awesome programmes we have, Playtime, Little Explorers, Sensory Sensations and Ready, Set, School.

I have a degree in Human Resource Management and currently studying Early Childhood Education which I am most passionate about. I love working with kids at this young age and being a mum to two young kids myself, I enjoy connecting, watching and helping children develop their confidence through play.

We have been attending the programmes at KCH as a member since 2014 and has definitely made a positive impact on us and in the community to have a place to go to have fun, learn and interact with other families and now we have some amazing friendships.

I enjoy cooking, reading and travelling with my family.

I look forward to seeing you and your children at KCH.

Miss Kylie – Facilitator

My name is Kylie, I have a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and have taught from Kindergarten through to Year 2.

I have such a passion for early years education and am a big advocate of children learning through play in the early years.

I have been attending KCH as a member since 2014. I began by attending the casual playgroups and then started attending the wonderful Bookworms program.

KCH has had such an impact on the early years of motherhood for me. It has enabled me to get out of the house in those early newborn days, connecting with other parents and building many relationships for both myself and my children.

We love the place so much we have even hired the rooms for our children’s birthday parties! As a family we have always felt welcomed and I now feel so honoured to be part of this amazing team.

Miss Maria – Facilitator

I currently help facilitate Ready, Set, School and Playtime.

I have been a member of KCH for a couple of years prior, attending the many amazing programmes on offer.

I feel so lucky to now be working in the programmes and working along side the facilitators my children grew to love.

Having a passion for art, design and crafts I operate Whisk and Glue, an after school cooking and craft activity group out of KCH as well as facilitate for events such as the Cossack Art Awards.

I really love watching the children use their creativity and imagination through art as well play.
